What started out as a nice, cloudy day, turned quickly into a snowy evening and night. This storm was forecast more than 24 hours in advance.
The wind was starting to pick up shortly after 12:00PM. At around 6:00PM, bands of snow could be seen over Carlin and by 7:00PM snow started hitting Elko. We received our first flakes a little after 7:30PM and right now there is close to 3/4 of an inch of snow on the deck. NOAA is calling for 5 to 9 inches of snow overnight, or close to 1 to 2 inches of snow per hour during the brunt of the storm.
Fortunately the weather is suppose to bounce back into the 70s come Saturday with a steady warming trend over the next 2 weeks. However, since this is Nevada, this is subject to change without much notice.
I'd like to hear from our neighbors north of Ryndon, across to Lamoille and Spring Creek and elsewhere in between and post your snow reports here.
Let's see what Mother Nature can bring...
Martin
